Battery Ranges
Below we provide a quick overview on the batteries makes and types in this section. We can source a wide range of batteries. Please contact us if you cannot find the battery you need for your standby power application.
- CSB Batteries: use VRLA lead acid technology and are suitable for security and fire panels, emergency lighting and uninterruptible power supplies.
- GNP Sprinter series from Exide Technologies: VRLA lead acid batteries 10 year design life AGM batteries for UPS systems and DC standby power supplies.
- Fiamm FLB, FGH and FGHL Batteries: use VRLA lead acid technology and for uninterruptible power supplies and DC standby power and backup systems.
- Yuasa NP, NPL and Yucel series: VRLA lead lead batteries use oxygen recombination technology and are suitable for security and fire panels, emergency lighting and uninterruptible power supplies.
- Yuasa SWL series: are VRLA lead acid batteries and an enhanced NP/NPL battery giving up to 40% more discharge capacity. They are ideal for high rate discharge applications including UPS systems and have a 10 year design life.
- Yuasa EN Endurance series: VRLA lead acid batteries suitable for standby applications telecommunications, UPS and Emergency Lightning with a long design life (EN series: 10 years, ENL: 15 years)

Battery Sizing
Batteries are sized based on their Ah (Ampere-Hour) and Vdc (voltage direct current). For the batteries on this page a 7-12 battery would have an Ah rating of 7Ah and a DC voltage of 12Vdc.
Often batteries are connected in series in strings to make a total Vdc battery string:
12Vdc+12Vdc+12Vdc=36Vdc
This 36Vdc battery string could support an inverter with a 36Vdc input requirement. The Ah of the battery defines how long the inverter could run for at a given load.
Using 7Ah in a 36Vdc battery string, a 36Vdc inverter may run for 6 minutes at 100% load or 8 minutes at 80% load (example figures).
If a longer runtime were required then two 36Vdc strings could be connected in parallel. The Vdc would still be 36Vdc but the battery set size would be 2×7=14Ah.
