Solar Power Panels
Solar panels available from EcoPowerSupplies include the solar PV modules listed below. These solar PV modules can be supplied as single modules or as part of a complete solar array for domestic, commercial, industrial or agricultural installations.
Solar PV finance can be arranged through including leasing and capital purchases and EcoPowerSupplies can assist with MCS certification and grid connection. We are Sharp Energy Solutions approved installers.
Looking for a specific solar PV panel module or system? Then call the Eco Power Projects for advice or to arrange a site survey or quotation on 0800 612 7388, email us or complete our enquiry form.
Polycrystalline Solar PV Modules
Solar PV modules can be made from Polycrystalline or Monocrystalline solar cells. The majority of installations made today are made using Polycrystalline solar modules. These are the type sold and installed by EcoPowerSupplies and they are easily recognised against the dark monocrystalline modules by their blue colour; typically dark blue.
Solar PV panels or modules are installed into a solar array to generate electricity from sunlight. Overall module efficiency is important and Polycrystalline modules typically achieve around 15% conversion efficiency. Higher efficiencies, known has ‘high-peak’ efficiency can be higher and towards 20-30% but these are generally made under laboratory rather than real-world conditions.
Another important aspect about solar PV installations is that they can be made using a financial investment or as a power solution. In terms of finance, Feed-in-Tariff an important aspect as is how the overall installation is financed.
Solar PV As A Financial Investment
Overall a financial investment is looking for a solution where the overall costs of ownership and running of the solar PV installation, together with any available Feed-in-Tariffs, lowers the overall cost of electrical consumption. As solar pv installations fall in cost and become more efficient, so the cost of electricity generated in kilowatts per hour (kWh) may move towards parity with traditionally generated electricity from the local grid supply. The return on investment (ROI) is also impacted by the cost of finance and interest rates as well as the overall cost of electricity. The right variables including tariffs, interest rates and cost of grid-generated electricity can make a solar PV installation extremely viable.
Domestic energy storage is a rapidly emerging side to the solar and renewables industry. Solar PV installations can be made with an energy storage battery pack so that the household can go off-grid when they want to run on their own back-up power. Energy storage can also be used as an emergency power solution.
Solar PV as a Power Solution
Solar PV can also be used as an Off-The-Grid (OTG) or emergency back-up solution in remote areas where either no grid electricity is available or to supplement grid supplied energy as a back-up or overnight solution.
Here the solar PV array is still used to generate electricity but this is then stored through an inverter/charger arrangement in a local battery supply; either sealed lead acid or lithium-ion batteries.
At night, when the mains power may not be available or it is not viable to run a generator for the amount of load required i.e. lighting, telecoms and general security, the inverter output is used to power the connected loads.
Custom Solutions
At EcoPowerSupplies we specialise in the generation of eco power and energy storage. Solar PV panels can be built-into our containerised solutions to provide additional power for remote installations used by medical charities, military and industrial organisations.
We can also used them as part of a solution for critical IT data centres, comms rooms and process control industries looking to benefit from the latest eco technologies and use on-site renewable power generation.
